I offer psychotherapy to individuals and couples

Why psychotherapy?

People come to psychotherapy for many different reasons. Some people seek help after experiencing a life changing event (such as a bereavement, the end of a relationship, an experience of violence) which they are finding difficult to cope with. Others come because they feel less than satisfied with their lives and want to gain a clearer insight into their situation and their feelings. Some access psychotherapy because they are confused, depressed or overwhelmed with conflicting feelings. Psychotherapy can also be beneficial to couples who wish to work on areas of their relationship in a therapeutic setting.

The model I work with is a humanistic Integrative model of psychotherapy and Person Centred theory would be the core model influencing my practise. However in some cases I find cognitive behavioural interventions to be therapeutically beneficial to clients.

I work with all issues but have extensive experience in issues related to experiences of trauma (especially rape & child sexual abuse) eating disorders, self injury, panic disorder, sexuality, bereavement, depression, relationship issues (including working with couples), self esteem, ocd and social phobia.
